Field Trips

Recognizing the great learning experiences possible through field trips, students are encouraged within the following guidelines:

  1. School dress is to be observed as a standard procedure unless the nature of the trip would warrant otherwise, in which case the teacher will give instructions for appropriate dress.
  2. Students must be prepared to pay any entrance fees, assist in transportation costs, etc. involved in the field trip. These are usually collected in advance.
  3. Students are to remember that not only do they represent themselves, their families, and their school, but also their Savior. Conduct should be orderly and appropriate.
  4. Advance written parental permission is needed.

Depending on the nature of the trip, it is not uncommon for parents to be asked to assist the teacher and chaperone a group of the students. On such occasions, please be reminded that adult helpers are expected to abide by the same dress standard as the students and to follow the plans and instructions of the teacher in charge. It is not always possible or advisable to take more than the necessary number of adult helpers.
